Tavern in the Square – Central Square 720 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA‎ (617) 868-8800‎ taverninthesquare.com‎ Come cheer on the 2010-11 Hokies at Tavern in the Square – Central Square! Social begins 1 Hour before kick-off!  We have a new home for TV Football watching events in a dedicated private room at Tavern in the Square located in Central Square, Cambridge, MA this fall. With the closing of the Sports Depot earlier this year, we have selected a new location that is equal distance from the Allston/Cambridge interchange off the MassPike but heading inbound on the same road toward Cambridge on Cambridge/River Street where it meets Mass Ave. There are several lots in the area that offer metered parking just behind the stores along Mass Ave.  For those who choose not to drive, it is also easy access on the T right next to the Central Square subway station on the Red Line as well as multiple bus lines that cross through Central Square.  The owners at Tavern in the Square know that the New England Hokies have had a loyal and strong presence over the year. They have made accommodations to provide us a private room and will offer some food specials during the games. As in the past meet Hokie Hour Social starting 1 hour before kick-off to allow time to socialize with other Hokies in the area. Come out this fall and help us generate a strong and solid turnout, so we can guarantee Hokie Zone space to the Hokies for future seasons.  The first event will be Monday night September 6th for the VT / Boise State Game. With the exception of the Boston College pre-game event on Sept 25th, the remaining TV watching events will be at Tavern in the Square – Central Square based on available televised broadcast. Emails will be sent out weekly in advance of the game to ensure broadcast is available.
